NBA Team Stuns Fans By Mistakenly Posting a YouTube Video About Signing LeBron James

The Miami Heat sent social media into a frenzy when the team mistakenly posted a YouTube video celebrating the signing of LeBron James.
Eagle-eyed social media users noticed Tuesday evening when the Heat uploaded a scheduled post on the team’s official YouTube channel with the title, “LeBron James Introductory Press Conference.” The post was slated to be published July 27.
The trouble is James — the biggest free agent in the league — has yet to sign with a team.
Anticipation for his eventual signing has been so high that NBA commissioner Adam Silver even admitted the league was holding off on finalizing the 2026 schedule because whichever team James chose would have to get a significant amount of nationally-televised games.

With James’s next destination being the top story in the NBA and fans eagerly awaiting his decision, that Heat’s video naturally caused quite a stir online.
According to a report from ESPN, the YouTube video was mistakenly listed by the Heat’s social media department. A spokesperson told ESPN’s Shams Charania that they were simply preparing for the possibility of James signing with the team:
James is an unrestricted free agent for the first time since 2018 and has been weighing his options in recent weeks. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers and Heat are believed to be the top teams James is considering, sources told ESPN, although other clubs — including the Golden State Warriors — have also been mentioned as suitors.
James’ agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, said earlier Tuesday that he does not know when his client will decide what team he will play for next season.
The Heat later deleted the post. James played for the Miami team for four seasons from 2010 to the 2013-2014 season, winning a pair of NBA championships along the way and earning most valuable player honors multiple times.
