Nashville Predators NHL draft trade details in acquiring 2nd first-round pick from Carolina

The Nashville Predators moved back into the first round of the 2026 NHL Draft on June 26.

Nashville acquired the No. 31 overall pick from the Carolina Hurricanes to select Moncton defenseman Tommy Bleyl with its second first-round pick.

The Predators sent the Nos. 42 and 57 overall picks, both in the second round, to Carolina to complete the trade.

Nashville now does not have a second-round pick but does still own eight picks in Day 2.

The Predators also selected U.S. NTDP forward Wyatt Cullen at No. 10 overall.
