La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Napoli are prepared to make Scott McTominay one of the team’s highest earners despite a disappointing World Cup with the Scotland national team.

Napoli are ready to offer their star midfielder McTominay a new deal until 2030 and make him one of the team’s highest earners, reports Gazzetta.

It is no secret that the Partenopei want to extend the Scottish midfielder’s stay at the Stadio Maradona beyond 2028, and the club’s plans have not changed after the appointment of Massimiliano Allegri as their new coach.

La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper reports today that Allegri wants to make the former Manchester United midfielder one of the cornerstones of his project, so Napoli are ready to enter formal talks with the midfielder’s entourage.

McTominay has arguably been Napoli’s best player during Antonio Conte’s two-year reign, and the club’s faith in the Scottish midfielder has not changed despite a disappointing World Cup campaign.

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has already tasked director Giovanni Manna with starting formal negotiations for McTominay’s contract extension, and the Scotland international is reportedly happy to continue at Napoli, extending his stay beyond 2028.
