Media turns on Arch Manning after mention of Steve Sarkisian-Holly Rowe AI video
The Texas Longhorns staged a thrilling comeback against Ohio State on Saturday night. In the chaos that followed the game, coach Steve Sarkisian blew off ESPN’s Holly Rowe. Rowe, in turn, did not look happy about the brief interaction.
The incident became a talking point and was turned into a meme. Quarterback Arch Manning was asked about all this during a press conference on Monday. Manning spoke candidly and many people didn’t like what they heard.

“I’ve seen a few AI edits and stuff, but that’s about it. I saw an AI edit of Sark’s interview. Ya’ll seen that one,” Manning asked the press. “That’s a good one.”
Asked which video he was talking about Manning continued saying, “Of him slapping Holly Rowe. It’s hilarious.”

Reaction to Arch Manning
Checking the quote-tweets on this video, this seems like its going to be a problem for Manning. His anecdote about finding an AI-generated video of his coach hitting a woman “hilarious” was not met with as much laughter online as it was in the room. And the video had nearly nine million views just six hours.
NBC Sports college football reporter Nichole Auerbach said, “The laughter from all the men in the room…. so, so gross.”
Las Vegas Aces Brianna Turner posted, “Women in sports will never know peace.”
Awful Announcing pointed out that this comes just a few weeks after a golf brand basically imploded after posting a video with similar subject matter.
It was an unthinkable thing to say out loud. Even if he was in a room full of people who seemed to think it was as funny as the 22-year old did. For a kid who went to Texas so he could sit and watch and presumably learn for the first two years he was in college, it’s hard to believe he didn’t know better. It was a bad look for Manning and everyone else in the room, but only Manning was on video and he’s going to have to own that.
