Louisville basketball headed to Bahamas for 2 exhibition games

Louisville basketball is headed to the Bahamas in a matter of weeks.
Pat Kelsey‘s new-look Cardinals will play two exhibitions in Nassau against teams from the Caribbean country as part of the Baha Mar Hoops Summer League.
Game 1 is tentatively set to tip off at 2 p.m. July 28. Game 2 is tentatively set for a noon tipoff July 29. Both will be held at the Baha Mar Convention, Arts and Entertainment Center, which is located at Baha Mar resort.
Kelsey in a statement described the excursion as “a business trip” — one that, in previous eras of college basketball, was permitted once every four years. Now, with the NCAA transfer portal leading to significant roster turnover, programs can take one every summer — and enjoy the 10 additional practices it grants.
“When we played in the Baha Mar Hoops Summer League two years ago, we saw what a great benefit that extra court time could have on our team,” Kelsey said in the statement. “We are looking for a similar effect with this quick trip to Nassau.”
UofL’s 2026-27 roster features nine newcomers and only one scholarship returner who saw the court for Kelsey in 2025-26. Its six-man transfer class ranks No. 1 in the country on 247Sports.com.
