After being recognized as one of the best five-star recruits from his high school class, it seems Koa Peat had a massive drop-off from his time before going to Arizona. Now, he will still be playing in Arizona, but this time, it will be in the NBA with the Phoenix Suns.
Despite being one of last year’s most impressive prospects, it seems his performances at Arizona left NBA teams underwhelmed. Now, he is ready to prove the doubters wrong with the Suns.
Koa Peat is ready to put the NBA Draft behind him
As an athletic forward, Peat is one of the players who fit well in the modern NBA. He can score above or below the rim, but he will mostly function as a lob threat in the offense.
Peat’s strength can also be a big positive for his long-term fit with Phoenix. Many have compared him to Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon, which is a good comparison because that could make him a potential high-level contributor.

Of course, three-point shooting can be a huge issue because he did not take many shots from there in college. With NBA shooting coaches, he could improve, especially with all the developed players on the Suns roster.
“It was tough, obviously, as a competitor, you’re seeing other guys, you know, you think you’re better than getting drafted ahead of you,” Peat said in his first press conference with the Suns.
Since he is motivated to prove himself, he can be a top player for Phoenix. Moving forward, he will be a much better player because of the motivation he is getting from being selected as the 30th overall pick.
