For the first time in 53 years, the Knicks — yes, the New York Knicks — are NBA champions. New York supporters couldn’t help but celebrate the side’s momentous win wildly.
Orange-and-blue-clad fans packed third places across the globe, relishing in the sight of Jalen Brunson daggers and Spurs clanks. When the final horn sounded, so did they, dancing beneath imaginary confetti. From Sutphin Boulevard to San Antonio, they were there, together as one. And for the first time in more than half a century, they were champions, too.
