A lot of the focus this offseason has been on Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats as they look to bounce back from a tough year. However, the women’s team and Kenny Brooks have pieced together a very solid roster heading into his third season in Lexington.
How good? Good enough to crack the top 10 in the On3 preseason rankings.
Talia Goodman is ranking the top-25 for the preseason rankings, and she has the Cats coming in at No. 9.
Kentucky brings back quite a bit of production in Clara Strack and Asia Boone, while also adding key freshmen in Maddyn Greenway, Savvy Swords, and Emily McDonald. Add in a few key transfers in Diana Collins (Alabama), Me’Arah O’Neal (Florida), and Ajsa Sivka (International), and Coach Brooks and his staff will be looking to make a deep run in March this year.
It seems like this team is positioned to be one of the better of the three teams we have seen under Kenny Brooks in Lexington. Now we wait and see if the pieces all fit together.
