“LaMelo Ball is gonna impact Anthony Edwards in such a positive way that I got Anthony Edwards as my frontrunner going into this season as the MVP,” Perkins said.
Fans dropped their reactions in the comments section.
“Theirs not gonna be a guard better then ant, ant has a higher ceiling then shai, better two way ability then luka. With melo on the team ant can focus on scoring+defense. plus wont be double as much,” a fan wrote.
“mark this. One of them will not end the season on this team,” one comment read.
“True , Lamelo made Knueppel look great imagine ANT,” a user said.
“Talk to emmmmmmmm!!!!” posted another.
“Kendrick, its deep summer, go for a swim,” one reaction read.
“So Melo coming in helping him to increase his scoring average would make Anthony ‘Most Valuable?’” another fan commented.
Anthony Edwards in 2025-26
Edwards appeared in 61 regular-season games last season. He averaged a career-high 28.8 points, along with 5.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.4 steals. The 24-year-old earned his fourth All-Star nod and led the Timberwolves to the second round of the playoffs. However, they lost 4-2 to the San Antonio Spurs.
Ball’s addition gives Minnesota a dynamic point guard who can setup Edwards for easy baskets. If they can prove that they coexist, the possibilities are endless for the Timberwolves next season.
