Jimmy Butler attends Colombia vs Portugal World Cup game wearing two different soccer jerseys

The 2026 World Cup keeps pulling America’s biggest sports names into the stands, and Jimmy Butler is the latest to make an appearance.
The Golden State Warriors forward was in the crowd for Colombia’s goalless draw with Portugal at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Saturday night, and he turned up dressed head to toe in Colombia colors.
Butler did not stop at one shirt, either.
The six-time NBA All-Star wore a yellow Colombia jersey pulled over a second one — an unusual look that quickly spread across social media while the players struggled to find a goal on the field.
Jimmy Butler’s double-jersey look at the World Cup
Butler went with a yellow Colombia home shirt on top, with the look completed by a cowboy hat wrapped in the flag’s colours. That jersey belongs to Crystal Palace star Daniel Munoz.
Underneath sat a second jersey carrying the No. 10 — the number worn by Colombia playmaker James Rodriguez.
Butler was backing Colombia, not splitting his support down the middle, and he picked a good night for it. Rodriguez ran the game as Colombia topped Group K, even if Davinson Sanchez’s late winner was chalked off for offside.
As for the why, we can only speculate. Some fans think it has to do with his brief fling with Colombian popstar Shakira back in 2023, but that sounds like a bit of a reach.
The trip comes during a quiet stretch for Butler, who is working his way back from an ACL injury and has time on his hands this offseason.
It also brought him back to Miami, the city he carried to two NBA Finals before his 2025 move to Golden State.
His old team has not stood still since. The Heat landed Giannis Antetokounmpo from Milwaukee on the eve of the NBA Draft, a deal that pushes them straight back into the Eastern Conference picture.
