Jim Harbaugh addresses Mike McDaniel job status after Chargers' 0-4 start

The Chargers fought hard against the defending Super Bowl champions, the Seahawks, on Sunday, but came up short.
Los Angeles fell to 0-4, losing to Seattle 30-23. The offense scored its most points of the season, but it still wasn’t enough.
Another lackluster offensive performance begs the question: Is Mike McDaniel’s job in jeopardy?
A reporter asked Jim Harbaugh that question, and he provided a vote of confidence despite the 0-4 start.
“No, his job is not is not in jeopardy. He’s a skilled coach and we’re going to keep growing, Harbaugh said.
McDaniel was brought in to revolutionize this offense and help elevate Justin Herbert. Instead, the offense has sputtered for most of three and a half games.
The offense looked better against the Seahawks, scoring a season-high 23 points. However, it wasn’t enough against a stout Seattle defense.
Before Week 4, McDaniel’s offense has been one of the worst and least productive units in the NFL. Los Angeles has averaged only 14.7 points per game and ranks 30th in expected points added (EPA) per play at -0.21.
In the Week 4 loss, Los Angeles ran more plays (68) than Seattle (58) and recorded more total yards, 301-286.
The Chargers struck a balance, passing for 154 yards and rushing for 147. However, the difference in the game was their four turnovers: two fumbles and two interceptions. Seattle only recorded one turnover.
The Chargers will now go back to the drawing board and look to record their first win in Week 5 against the Broncos.
