Iowa football lands commitment from 2028 OL James Barnett

Iowa landed a commitment from class of 2028 offensive lineman James Barnett.
Barnett, a 6-foot-2, 270-pound lineman out of Iowa City West High School, is the son of Iowa offensive line coach George Barnett.
Barnett is ranked as a three-star commit, as the nation’s No. 26 interior offensive lineman and as the No. 6 player in Iowa in the 2028 class, per 247Sports.
In addition to Iowa, Barnett held offers from Miami (Ohio) and South Dakota.

Barnett joins cornerback Dwayle Smith as the second commit in Iowa’s 2028 class. Smith hails from Baltimore, Md., and attends St. Frances Academy.
