Broncos rookie linebacker named a sleeper to watch at OTAs

The Denver Broncos kicked off their first week of organized team activities (OTAs) on Tuesday, but media members won’t be present until the third day of practice on Thursday.
While we wait for media members to get their first look at the spring roster, one undrafted player to watch for updates on will be linebacker Taurean York. Justin Melo of Sports Illustrated recently published his list of ten UDFA sleepers to track during OTAs, and York made the cut.
“Taurean York led Texas A&M in tackles in back-to-back seasons with more than 150 combined takedowns,” Melo wrote for SI. “Sources indicate the Denver Broncos would have drafted linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. had the Tennessee Titans not traded up right in front of them. The linebacker-needy Broncos didn’t draft one until making Red Murdock Mr. Irrelevant. They signed York to a massive undrafted contract that contains $325,000 in practical salary guarantees.”
After Denver was unable to land a top linebacker prospect in the draft, Melo seemingly believes York will have a strong chance to end up on the 53-man roster. York is arguably the most notable UDFA among the team’s 2026 signings, and fans will be eager to track his progress this summer.
