  • She added that women tend to judge other women’s intentions.

Shresta Iyer reveals her protective side over brother Shreyas’ love life

Shreyas Iyer is constantly in news for his poor form as India T20I captain through losing the Ireland series 2-0 and going down in two of the three T20Is in the five-match series against England.

While his sister Shresta Iyer has backed his capabilities as India T20I captain, she also explained how protective she is regarding her brother’s personal matters.

In an interview with Filmygyan, she revealed that she wishes that Shreyas gets “the right girl”. Though she clarified that it will always be her brother’s final decision, she will not mind sharing her thoughts.

What did Shresta Iyer say about Shreyas Iyer’s future wife?

Shresta showed how much importance she places on her duty as a sister regarding Shreyas’ relationships.

“I’m very possessive about my brother. I want the right girl for him. Obviously, he will choose the girl, but when he asks me, I will tell him whether the girl is good for him or not.”

Additionally, she stated why she feels like she could judge the intentions of people around her.

“Boys talk of it that ‘men can tell you the intentions of men very well’. The same way, girls know the intentions of girls. And I have always kept girls with such intentions away.”

Shreyas Iyer’s focus remains on India’s T20I assignment

Though his sister’s statements may have drawn attention outside the game, Shreyas’ mind is solely on cricket. The right-handed batter has been appointed as the T20I captain of India, replacing Suryakumar Yadav despite the latter lifting the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

The captaincy hasn’t started well for Shreyas because India lost their first bilateral series against Ireland and then failed to win any of their T20I matches in the ongoing series against England.

With consecutive winless matches, it is the first time in India’s T20I history that the side has gone on such a drought of wins.
