When the week began, there were 20 amateurs at the 2026 U.S. Open, more than 10 percent of the field. after Friday’s cut at Shinnecock Hills, only five have weekend tee times.

There were numerous great stories involving the future stars of the game, from Ryder Cowan holding the solo lead at one point Thursday to Miles Russell showing off in his major championship debut. Those two are among the group who made the cut, both of them in their championship debuts.

For many others, however, their week has come to an end in Southampton, New York. The cut came at 4-over 144.

Which amateurs made the cut at the US Open 2026?

Ryder Cowan (E)

Cowan held the solo lead for a bit during Thursday’s opening round and heads into the weekend with a great chance to earn low amateur honors.

Miles Russell (+3)

The 17-year-old has made the cut in his first major championship start. What a stellar debut for the No. 1 junior in the world. He’ll look to challenge Cowan over the last 36 holes for low am.

Jackson Koivun (+4)

In his final start as an amateur, the No. 1 in the world has a pair of back-nine birdies to make the weekend.

Eric Lee (+4)

Lee had a terrific round Friday, shooting even par and then squeaking into the weekend on the number.

Marek Fleming (+4)

A pair of 72s for Fleming have him making the cut on the number in his first major championship start.
