Dione Barbosa left nothing to the imagination earlier tonight (Sat., July 18, 2026) at UFC Oklahoma LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, cruising past Octagon newcomer Anna Melisano with a first-round submission (rear-naked choke).
Barbosa, who has alternated wins and losses since her UFC debut back in 2024, was a very large betting favorite entering Saturday’s “Prelims” opener and for good reason. It’s mainly because Melisano was stepping up on short notice and moving up in weight to answer UFC’s call. Props to Melisano for taking the opportunity when matchmakers came knocking, but it didn’t turn out well for the former Fury FC standout.
While Barbosa usually leans on her striking game to beat an opponent down the Brazilian switched things up early with her grappling. Barbosa quickly closed the gap and scored a nice takedown along the cage. Melisano was immediately on the defense and never even got a chance to channel her own game plan. Barbosa worked from top control and even got a hold of Melisano’s back, but the newcomer hung in tough in defense.
Eventually, Melisano was able to work her way back to her feet. That only lasted a second as Barbosa was already on her back locking up a tight rear-naked choke. Melisano lasted a little bit before tapping out standing. It was a great way to start UFC Oklahoma’s undercard.
