⚽GIRLS SOCCER – Division I
Smithfield 2, Cranston West 1
Smithfield came alive in the second half on the road.
A pair of second-half goals from Kolbie Joachim and Alexis McKay led the Sentinels to a 2-1 victory over Cranston West.
Joachim put away a bouncing ball in the box, off a long set piece, to tie the match early in the second frame. McKay followed with a solo effort up the right side to put Smithfield ahead at the 22:04 mark.
It’s the second win in a row for Smithfield, who hosts North Kingstown on Thursday, as it climbs the RPI rankings in Division I.
Amiyah Cromartie scored a penalty-kick goal for the Falcons midway through the first half.
Moses Brown 4, St. Raphael 3
The Division I Quakers edged the Division II Saints in a high-scoring matchup, holding off a late push behind a balanced offensive effort. ColeWalker led Moses Brown with two goals, while Rose Couto and Tess Aaronian each added a goal. Aaronian also recorded an assist, with Avery Butler and Celia Flaherty recording helpers as well.
St. Raphael stayed within striking distance throughout the game thanks to a pair of goals from Anaya Ocampo and another from Sophia Ogni. Kamarie Cosme chipped in with an assist for the Saints.
St. Raphael’s goalie Isabella Alcantara turned away 15 shots, while Moses Brown goalkeeper Marielle Nassiff made 12 saves to help preserve the victory.
Chariho 2, Barrington 1
A late goal from Morgan Brucker proved to be the difference as the Chargers came away with a 2-1 victory.
Chariho opened the scoring 13 minutes into the game on a goal by Juliana Almeida. Just two minutes later, however, the Eagles Sophia Alves worked her way through several players and tied the score at 1-1 with a shot from outside the 18-yard box tha found the back of the net.
The score would remain that way until, with 11 minutes remaining in the contest, Brucker found the back of the net with what turned out to be the game winner.
Lincoln 4, Mt. Hope 2
Isa Martinelli snapped a 2-2 tie with two goals in the second half to help lift the the Lions to victory over the Huskies. Lincoln took a 2-1 lead into the second half on goals by Kassidy Rong and Danika Dedham
Mt. Hope opened the scoring on a goal by Sara Nencka, who tallied both goals for the Huskies in the loss.
⚽GIRLS SOCCER – Division II
Pilgrim 4, Ponaganset 2
Mackenzie Dailey led the Patriots with a pair of goals, and Allison Patten and Brenna Hall each added a goal. Audra Lynch recorded an assist and Sofia Cabral had six saves in the win.
For the Chieftains, Samantha Chatwin and MarronNerney each scored a goal.

🏑FIELD HOCKEY – Division I
East Greenwich 6, La Salle 1
The Avengers rolled to a 6-1 victory over the Rams in a rematch of last season’s semifinal. EG took a 2-0 first-quarter lead as Lilian Grant scored off a pass from Frances Hershberger and Olivia Roland added another goal, also assisted by Hershberger.
AvaHalvorsen and Grant extended the lead to 4-0 with assists from Roland and DakotaGodek. La Salle’s Ella Hyland scored to make it 4-1 entering the fourth quarter. East Greenwich answered with goals from Juliette Saccoccio, assisted by Hershberger, and Layla Johnson, who scored off feeds from Emma Pray and Saccoccio.
Grant, Roland, Dakota Godek and Ava Gemma led strong performances for the Avengers. EmmaGuckian made two saves, while Rams goalkeeper Peyton Giroux recorded 17.
East Greenwich travels to Pennsylvania this weekend for the MaxPreps High School Field Hockey Invitational before returning to league play against Moses Brown next Tuesday.
🏑FIELD HOCKEY – Nonleague
Chariho/Prout 3, Fitch 0
Goals by Madalyn Burdick, Vivian Smith and another unidentified member of the Chariho/Prout Co-op paved the way for its victory over Fitch (Connecticut). also contributing to the win were Frankie Smith, Vivian Smith and Sara Slitt, who each collected assists.
Fitch goalie Audrey Frank put together a strong performance in goal as shed made 19 saves loss.

Hayden Sylvia recorded 18 assists and three digs, Gianna Soares had 21 digs and four aces and Margaret Thorp had six kills and three aces to lead the Huskies to a 25-25, 25-22, 25-12 win.
For the Chargers, Siena Ducharme had two aces and seven digs, and Sydney Pallioti recorded four kills in the loss.
East Providence 3, Cranston West 0
Ella Grimley (nine kills, 12 assists, three blocks) and Audrey Bernard (eight kills, three blocks) led the Townies to the shutout victory (25-13, 25-16, 25-20) over the Falcons.
Lily McCartney contributed six kills and an ace to the Cranston West effort.
Prout 3, South Kingstown 0
The Crusaders got major contributions from Ana Pearce with 10 kills and nine aces, Brooke Rutherford with 11 assists and Evelyn McGuire with nine aces in the shutout victory on their home court (25-13, 25-16, 25- 23).
For the Rebels, Shannon McGarty contributed five kills, two aces and 20 digs and Gabby Lawton had five kills.
Coventry 3, East Greenwich 1
The Oakers were led by Kelsey Khutton with 17 kills, 20 digs and four aces, Gabby Jordan recorded 22 digs, and Payton Baris had eight kills and 15 digs in the win (18-25, 25-22, 28-26, 33-11).
For the Avengers, Farrow Yoder had four aces and Lena Wolfson recorded seven kills in the loss.
North Kingstown 3, Cumberland 0
The key contributors to the Skippers’ shutout victory (25-18, 25-17, 25-16) were Isla Arnold with nine kills and two digs, Kayleigh Garrepy with 17 kills and six digs, Alison McCoombs with eight digs and Claire Welch with five kills, two assists and six digs.
For the Clippers, Darryl Ashilaka contributed 12 kills and eight digs. Lyla Parmentier had 14 assists and 11 digs and Bowie Legend had 10 digs and two aces.
Portsmouth 3, Westerly 1
Peyton Winn recorded 10 kills, five digs and two blocks, while Kamryn Lehner totaled nine kills, 15 assists and 10 digs to lead Portsmouth to a 25-21, 6-25, 25-13, 25-23 victory. Bianca Abbott added five kills, one block and one assist for Portsmouth.
For Westerly, Svea Crawford finished with seven aces, six kills and six digs, Ella Reyes had nine kills, and Santanaa Hamelin contributed eight kills, six digs, two assists and one block in the loss.
La Salle 3, Classical 1
The Rams’ Mack Bradley recorded eight kills and two blocks, Courtney Sims had 10 kills and Adrian Brzoza had six kills and three digs in the the team’s (25-20, 30-28, 25-20 and 24-26) win over the Purple.
Classical’s Amaya Womack was outstanding in the loss as she compiled 21 kills, three aces, six digs and three blocks and teammate Dara Agramonte would also turn in a strong effort with four kills, seven digs and 25 assists.
🏐GIRLS VOLLEYBALL – Division II
Tiverton 3, Middletown 0
The Division III Tigers swept the Division II Islanders behind the solid play of Carlie Martin, who recorded eight aces, three kills and six digs. Ady Amaral had six aces, three kills and three blocks, and Saylor Ouellette had three aces and 15 assists in the win (25-11, 25-22, 25-8).
For Middletown, Athalia Newby had seven digs and Ella Robson had five digs.
🏐GIRLS VOLLEYBALL – Division III
Block Island 3, Narragansett 1
The play of Abigail Wili (8 kills, 3 aces, 7 digs and 4 blocks), Elizabeth Evan (6 kills, 3 aces, 5 digs and 5 blocks) and Keira Closter (3 kills, 6 aces and 3 digs) helped the Hurricanes record a win (25-17, 25-19, 22-25, 25-22) over the Mariners.
Despite the loss, Narragansett got solid outings from Mar Guimera Fonrodona (7 aces, 7 assists, 15 digs and 2 kills) and Ella Boyd (3 aces, 6 blocks, 4 digs and 12 kills).
Woonsocket 3, North Providence 0
Maja Pisarek totaled 14 assists, six digs and three aces, Avaree Caron recorded eight kills and five aces, and Jillian Letoille added seven aces and two kills to lead the Novans to a 25-18, 25-17, 25-11 victory.
For the Cougars, Danae Bruckner had four kills and Olivia Geico-Ayala finished with five aces in the loss.
