Real Madrid midfielder Arda Güler and his Türkiye side succumbed to a second defeat in the World Cup group stage and are now eliminated from the tournament.

Paraguay struck inside 65 seconds at San Francisco Bay Area Stadium, Galarza curling a long-range effort into the bottom-right corner after a clever flick from Julio Enciso set him up. However, Almirón was sent off with a straight red in stoppage time after a VAR review, having covered his mouth while speaking to Müldür.

Türkiye controlled possession after the break thanks to their extra man, but they couldn’t break down Orlando Gill, who produced some impressive saves. Türkiye had 32 shots in this game but could not find a way to the net.

Arda Güler played the full 90 minutes. He had 99 touches and completed 58 out of his 70 attempted passes. He also created three chances. Despite the effort, his World Cup dream ended in despair.
