Game balls for SW Florida high school football top Week 7 performers

St. John Neumann got a huge road win against Charlotte, Ida Baker took down Mariner and Oasis outlasted Island Coast in overtime as other local squads rolled to victories on Friday night.

Those were just some of the storylines from Week 7 of the 2026 high school football season in Southwest Florida.

To honor the players who stood out, The News-Press and Naples Daily News hand out their Game Balls for the top efforts each week. Here are the honorees for this week’s games.

Brock Catlin, Canterbury

The senior running back rushed for 190 yards and four touchdowns in the Cougars win against Saint Stephen’s.

Mickenson Demezier, St. John Neumann

The St. John Neumann High School Celtics faced off against Charlotte High School Friday, Oct. 2, 2026 for a varsity football matchup. The Celtics walked away with the victory with a final score of 49-18.

The senior running back rushed for 181 yards on 18 carries to help power the Celtics to a road win against Charlotte.

Arthur Gallishaw, South Fort Myers

The senior running back rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns on just nine carries in the Wolfpack’s win against Cypress Lake.

Eddie Gore, Dunbar

The senior running back scored three first half touchdowns from 7, 68, and 89 yards out in the Tigers’ win against Lehigh.

Cameron Hill, Oasis

Palmetto Ridge traveled to Capr Coral to face Oasis Charter in a high school football game on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026. Oasis running back Cameron Hill.

Hill rushed for both of the Sharks’ touchdowns, including the game winner, in the team’s overtime win against Island Coast.

CJ Hood, Gateway

The senior running back went for 99 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries in the Eagles’ win against Bonita Springs.

James Kelly, South Fort Myers

Kelly connected on 12-of-17 passes for 242 yards and three touchdowns in the Wolfpack’s win against Cypress Lake.

Zac Massie, Marco Island

The senior rushed for 66 yards on 8 carries in the Manta Rays’ loss to All Saints. On defense, he posted 8 tackles, an interception and a sack.

Aldrich Meyer, LaBelle

LaBelle traveled to East Lee County and picked up a 44-20 win over the Jaguars on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026.

The senior had a pick-6 and a touchdown reception in the Cowboys’ win against East Lee County.

Youvensley Methelus, Immokalee

The junior running back rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns in the Indians’ victory over Palmetto Ridge.

Mack Mitchell V, ECS

The senior rushed for a 65-yard touchdown and forced two fumbles in the Sentinels’ win against Gateway Charter.

Dominic Pena, Ida Baker

The junior running back rushed for three touchdowns from 60, 1, and 36 yards out in the Bulldogs’ victory over Mariner.

Liam Neary, Aubrey Rogers

The sophomore running back rushed for three touchdowns in the Patriots’ win against Lely.
