It is Friday night. The Orioles kicked off their weekend homestand with a 6-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Down 4-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh, they rallied to score four runs on a double by Christian Encarnacion-Strand and a triple by Gunnar Henderson.
Brandon Young battled through 5.2 innings and the bullpen held the Phillies to one hit over the final 3.1 innings. Newly extended Yennier Cano was perfect, as was closer Tyler Wells.
Moments after the game ended, the Cleveland Guardians lost to bring the Orioles to just 1.5 games out of a Wild Card spot.
