France vs Sweden hot weather forecast for World Cup match at MetLife

It’s going to be a hot one at MetLife Stadium on Tuesday.

France and Sweden are set to face off at 5 p.m. in MetLife’s first knockout round match of the 2026 World Cup. It will be the sixth of eight games to be played at the venue in East Rutherford, New Jersey, for the global tournament.

The French squad, led by legendary manager Didier Deschamps is staring down the barrel of a third straight World Cup finals appearance. France is again one of the favorites to win it all after going 3-0 in the group stage and outscoring opponents, 10-2, in those matches.

Sweden, on the other hand, advanced to the Round of 32 as one of eight third-place teams moving on. It finished as the second-best team in that grouping with four points and a goal differential of zero. The Swedes limp into the knockout rounds after a 5-1 loss to the Netherlands and a 1-1 draw with Japan.
