Former Spurs first-round pick eyes NBA comeback after EuroLeague stint

Former Miami Hurricanes guard Lonnie Walker IV is attempting to make a comeback to the NBA according to insider Marc Stein. A former No. 18 overall pick with the San Antonio Spurs in the 2018 NBA Draft, Walker IV played parts of seven seasons from 2018 to 2025 before playing in Europe during the 2025-26 season.
For Maccabi Tel Aviv of the EuroLeague, Walker IV averaged 15.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 0.8 steals in 28 games. Throughout 342 career games in the NBA, Walker IV holds averages of 10 points per game, 2.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.5 steals. At just 27 years of age, Walker IV could easily make an NBA return and provide a scoring punch off the bench. However, he’ll have to act fast this summer, needing to sign with an NBA team by July 15 to get out of his contract with Tel Aviv.
