ESPN ranks CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens back-to-back among NFL's top 10 WRs

The viral “6-7” has a new meaning in Dallas, and like that craze where kids wave their arms back and forth, slowly getting more exaggerated with every second, that’s what defenses are going to look like trying to cover these two.

In ESPN’s annual top 100 positional rankings, Cowboys receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens both earned spots among the league’s elite — solidifying Dallas as home of one of the most dangerous passing attacks heading into the 2026 season.

Lamb’s inclusion comes as no surprise. The All-Pro wideout has consistently been one of the NFL’s most productive and reliable targets, combining elite route running with the ability to turn any short gain into an explosive play.

For those reasons and many more, Lamb earned sixth place on this year’s list — down from his fourth-overall ranking last year. Someone listed Lamb as the third-best WR while someone else had him unranked altogether.

“With his ability to separate and make big plays, the attention he demands creates opportunities for others in the offense,” an NFC scout said. “He’s still on the short list of guys who give you problems consistently.” — via ESPN

As for George Pickens, he makes his debut after not making the list during his three seasons in Pittsburgh, coming in right behind Lamb in the seventh spot. Pickens’ highest ranking was fifth, while, like Lamb, he was left someone else’s list entirely.

Pickens adds a different dimension to this offense with his highlight-reel catches and physical style. His ability to win contested balls and stretch the field complements Lamb’s precision and versatility, creating possibly the most dangerous pairing in the NFL.

When asked which one was the Cowboys’ top option, one NFL coordinator did not hesitate:

“It’s Pickens,” “He has emerged.” — via ESPN

Cincinnati’s Ja’Marr Chase topped the list, while Minnesota’s Justin Jefferson came in second. Seattle’s Jaxon Smith-Njigba landed in third, followed by the Rams‘ Puka Nacua. Detroit’s Amon-Ra St. Brown rounded out the top five.

The Rams were the only other team who had two receivers in the top-ten, with Davante Adams coming in tenth. Detroit, with Jameson Williams listed as an honorable mention, was the third team to have two wideouts mentioned altogether.

The recognition from ESPN underscores the Cowboys’ offensive potential. With two top-10 receivers leading the charge and quarterback Dak Prescott, who is also among the top passers in the league, Dallas clearly has the firepower to compete with anyone in the league.

One minute, a defensive back is lined up confidently against Dallas and the next, their arms are flailing everywhere trying to keep up with the Cowboys two monster wideouts à la “6-7.”
