Dolphins’ Aaron Brewer back with team for mandatory minicamp

MIAMI GARDENS — Miami Dolphins center Aaron Brewer was back with the team as it opened its three-day mandatory minicamp Tuesday.
Brewer, who is undergoing contract extension negotiations this offseason as he enters the final year of his current deal, was not seen at last week’s session of voluntary organized team activities open to the media.
As the Dolphins opened minicamp Tuesday, coach Jeff Hafley said last week’s absence was due to a family obligation.
Brewer has previously told the South Florida Sun Sentinel he’s not in a rush to get an extension done. His absence last week came as a surprise, as he had been present throughout the Dolphins’ offseason workout program and the first week of OTAs.
“Hopefully that gets ironed out,” Hafley said of the contract talks with Brewer.
Brewer is an anchor to Miami’s offensive line in the middle. Using his elite athleticism at his position, he’s among the league’s best run blockers, especially getting to the outside in the wide-zone blocking scheme.
He is currently slated to make a nudge under $5 million in 2026, his seventh NFL season and third with the Dolphins after signing as a free agent in 2024.
New Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan has called Brewer one of the three foundational pieces he has inherited on the roster that he’d like to reach an extension with.

He already struck a deal with running back De’Von Achane. Brewer and linebacker Jordyn Brooks are the other two. Brooks has been with the team throughout offseason workouts.
The Dolphins had all players accounted for at minicamp, according to Hafley before Tuesday drills.
While OTA attendance and participation is voluntary for players, unexcused absences at mandatory minicamp carry fines with them. Under the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement, missing the first day of minicamp would result in a $17,462 fine, with increasing penalties for further days missed.
