The Los Angeles Dodgers have a new depth reliever in town.

On Monday, Joel Sherman of The New York Post reported that the Dodgers are acquiring veteran reliever Seth Halvorsen from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for two players.

“Dodgers are acquiring reliever Seth Halvorsen from the Rockies for 2 players. He is going to AAA,” Sherman wrote.

Halvorsen isn’t a big-name player that Dodgers fans may know at this point in his career. He’s a three-year Major League Baseball veteran with a 4.31 career ERA in 75 total appearances. So far this season, Halvorsen has pitched in 21 games in the majors and has a 4.74 ERA and a 17-to-15 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 19 innings of work.

This isn’t a move that is going to help the Dodgers in the majors right away, but it’s another depth move for the two-time reigning World Series champions.
