We are almost two weeks removed from the start of free agency, the big names that have moved, and the offer sheets that came with it this summer.

The moves have been slowing down for a while, but trade rumors are everywhere.

In Boston, a Bruins prospect is hanging up his skates at 23 years old. Mason Langenbrunner, a four-year Harvard defenseman, is taking his talents to a start-up company.

Elsewhere around the league, the fallout of the Leo Carlsson offer sheet. More trade rumors, including Elias Pettersson, the Canucks’ 1C. He has been in trade rumors for quite some time, but one team specifically might need to pump the brakes. Also, Detroit does not want picks in a Dylan Larkin trade, and the Canucks hired four assistant coaches.

Connor Hellebuyck is a name to circle on the trade market, as there is a high probability he is traded this summer. Obviously, he is not a need in Boston, but it does not seem as if he will be sticking it out in Winnipeg for too much longer.

Happy Sunday, catch up on Bruins and league news in today’s Daily Bean:

Boston Bruins

Boston Globe ($): In Kevin Paul Dupont’s Sunday Hockey Notes, he reports that 23-year-old defenseman Mason Langenbrunner has retired from hockey and is pursuing a business career. The Bruins took Langenbrunner, son of the recently departed AGM Jamie, in the fifth round of the 2020 NHL Draft.

Langenbrunner is a co-founder of Skye, a performance protein bar, alongside two more Harvard athletes. The company has amassed 40,000+ Instagram followers.
