What is main 2026 training camp storyline for Cleveland Browns OL?
No Browns position group has changed more from 2025 to 2026 than the offensive line. The Browns’ starting five linemen for the season opener will all be new. The question is, how does it all come together? It appears that four of the five starters are essentially set, although there may be a spot or two to change. That includes Fano, the No. 9 overall pick in the draft, at left tackle, free-agent signees Johnson at left guard and Elgton Jenkins at center and trade acquisition Howard at right tackle. They still need to find the right guard spot, as well as the top backups.
Cleveland Browns OL to keep an eye on during 2026 training camp
Jones is the 2023 fourth-round pick out of Ohio State whose career has been sabotaged by season-ending injuries each of his first three years in the league. That has prevented him from either establishing himself at a spot, or getting enough consistent reps to allow for a full evaluation of his future potential. Jones came into the offseason program slimmed down, and worked regularly with the first offensive group along with Fano. Jones has a chance this camp to establish himself in the swing tackle role at the worse. The question is, could he find a way into the starting lineup?
How does Browns OL emerge from 2026 training camp?
The right guard spot is the one hole in the line that is truly up for grabs, with Leveston, Teven Jenkins and even potentially rookie Barber in line to play there. There’s also a world in which Brailsford has a strong enough camp at center that it allows the Browns to move Elgton Jenkins to his more natural guard position. If not, he’ll remain at center. Howard, Fano and Johnson all seem like, if not locked in, then at least operating from an advantageous position.
