Clemson WR TJ Moore unimpressed with 89 overall rating in CFB27

TJ Moore did not need many words to make his point. The Clemson wide receiver posted a short reaction Wednesday night after seeing his 89 overall rating, writing only, “89 overall” on X.

For most players, an 89 overall rating is elite with no complaints. But Moore being right outside the top group of wide receivers probably explains the tone. The list of players ahead of him includes Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith at 99 overall, Miami’s Malachi Toney at 96, Texas’ Cam Coleman at 92, Florida State’s Duce Robinson at 92, Rutgers’ KJ Duff at 92, Alabama’s Ryan Coleman-Williams and Mario Craver at 91, Colorado’s Danny Scudero at 91, UAB’s Amare Thomas at 90 and Miami’s Cooper Barkate at 90.

That leaves Moore sitting just outside the 90 club.

Moore enters 2026 with 97 career receptions for 1,488 yards and nine touchdowns over his first two seasons. He has already joined Justyn Ross, Artavis Scott and Sammy Watkins as the only players in Clemson history to record at least 650 receiving yards in both their freshman and sophomore seasons.

Moore may not have said directly he was unhappy. But “89 overall” says plenty about how he feels.
