Clemson offers the No. 1 tight end in the 2028 recruiting class

Clemsonfootball has officially entered the mix for one of the top prospects in the 2028 recruiting class.
Four-star tight end Kaleb Ballard of Wetumpka, Alabama revealed Saturday night that he has received an offer from the Tigers. The 6-foot-5, 215-pound prospect is the first tight end Clemson has offered in the 2028 class and is regarded as one of the nation’s best at the position.
Ballard is already attracting attention from many of college football’s biggest programs. His growing offer list includes Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, UCLA, Virginia Tech and several others.
The standout visited Clemson in early June to work out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp after also attending camps at Alabama, Auburn and Florida during the summer.
Ballard put together an impressive sophomore season, hauling in 32 receptions for 573 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Recruiting services are already high on his potential. Rivals ranks Ballard as the No. 34 overall player in the 2028 class, the No. 1 tight end nationally and the No. 2 prospect in Alabama. Meanwhile, 247Sports also lists him among the country’s elite tight ends at No. 2 in the class.
