Chelsea's Alejandro Garnacho nearing Aston Villa loan move after nightmare season
Chelsea have reached an agreement with Aston Villa for Alejandro Garnacho, with the winger poised to move on an initial loan after being considered surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
Villa accelerated negotiations earlier this week after receiving signals that he was looking for a new challenge.
An agreement between the clubs is now in place, with Unai Emery having personally requested the Argentine. The deal includes a £42.5 million ($56.8 million) buy clause that would become mandatory if certain conditions are met, and it is believed those conditions will easily be triggered, as per football.london.

Garnacho has already undergone his medical and is now in Birmingham to complete the transfer. A four‐year contract is said to be lined up, should the conditional obligation‐to‐buy clause be activated and the deal made permanent.
The 22-year-old found himself at yet another crossroads just a year after departing Manchester United under difficult circumstances to push through a £40 million ($54 million) switch to Chelsea.
However, after struggling to nail down a regular starting berth in West London and failing to report back for pre‐season under new head coach Xabi Alonso, he was once again in search of a fresh start.
Chelsea were looking for a resolution, and Villa responded by opening discussions over an initial loan this week. Emery has maintained a long-standing interest in the Argentine, having made an attempt to sign him last summer.
Garnacho had attracted considerable interest from clubs throughout Europe and Saudi Arabia, all eager to land his signature.

However, he is not regarded as a direct replacement for Morgan Rogers, who completed a record £117 million ($156.5 million) transfer to Chelsea, providing Villa with a significant return on their investment following his arrival from Middlesbrough in February 2024.
The deal is also entirely separate from the negotiations that surrounded the Rogers transfer.
Villa’s club-record signing, Johan Manzambi from SC Freiburg, is considered the direct replacement for the departing Rogers, yet the club has also shifted its attention toward recruiting a wide player.
Garnacho struggled to make his mark in London following his £40 million move from Old Trafford last summer.
He managed just 22 starts across all competitions — 14 of those coming in the Premier League, where he registered eight goals.
