Casino Speedway event part of big weekend for late model drivers

WATERTOWN — A late model driver from Georgia secured the big prize on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in the 14th Marilyn Olson Memorial racing program at Casino Speedway.
A field of 32 late model drivers, a number representing the Structural Buildings Late Model Challenge Series, raced in the program along with 13 Midwest modifieds, 12 Gen X late models and seven street stocks.
Cody Overton of Thompson, GA topped the field by winning the 40-lap late model feature and along with it, the special $3,000 prize to the winner.
Area late model drivers Chad Becker of Aberdeen, who was second in the feature, and Thomas Weisgram of Northville each won heat races in the division during the program.
Other feature winners included Watertown’s Bodie Croninger, who won his second Gen X late models feature of the season at Casino Speedway and Coltyn Schuler of Montevideo, MN (street stocks) and Taylor Schmidt of Aberdeen (Midwest modifieds). Schuler and Schmidt each won their first features of the season.
Croninger and Schuler each opened their nights with heat victories. Other area drivers who recorded heat victories included Terry Reilly of Watertown and Scott Hansen of Garden City, Midwest modifeds; and Trevor Walsh of Watertown, Gen X late models.
All six regular classes of cars will be on hand during the next racing program at Casino Speedway on Sunday, June 14 at 6 p.m.

Brown County Speedway
ABERDEEN — The Tri-State Late Model Series was part of the racing program at BCS on Friday, June 5.
The field included 38 late models, 28 Midwest modifieds, 21 street stocks and 14 Legends.
Cole Searing of Huron capped the night by winning the late model feature.
Three other drivers recorded their first feature wins of the season at BCS, including Jayden Bogh of Huron (street stocks), Jake Wranek of Sioux Falls (Midwest modifeds) and Preston Martin of Lincoln, ND (legends).
Area heat winners were Cory Moser of Aberdeen, street stocks; Kyle Schell of Aberdeen and Dawson Zabel of Selby, Midwest modifieds; and Chad Olsen of Hendricks (MN), late models.
Racing resumes on Friday, June 12 at 7 p.m.
Dakota State Fair Speedway
HURON — Late model driver Justin Zeitner of Malvern, IA was the big winner in the Tri-State Late Model Dash on Saturday, June 6.
The opening night of the event was rained out on Thursday, June 4.
Zeitner capped Saturday’s event by winning the late model feature. Thirty-two late model drivers competed.
Chris Serr of Aberdeen (street stocks) and Matt Heinzerling of Spearfish (Midwest modifeds) also won their first features of the season at DSFS. There were 20 street stocks and 12 Midwest modifieds who raced in the program.
Area drivers who won heat races were Dylan Arndt of Ortonville, MN (street stocks) and Scott Hansen of Garden City (Midwest modifeds).
The next racing program at the track is scheduled for Saturday, June 13 at 7 p.m.
Fiesta City Speedway
MONTEVIDEO, MN — Ryan Flaten of Madison, MN secured his third Midwest modified feature win of the season at FCS on Saturday, June 6.
Other features were won by Justin Vogel of Brooten, MN (street stocks), Tyler Peterson of Hickson, ND (late models) and Adam Prieve of Litchfield, MN (limited late models).
The opening night of the scheduled doubleheader, headlined by the Structural Buildings Late Model Challenge Series, was wiped out by rain on Friday, June 5.
Flaten and Jason Anderson of Clear Lake each won Midwest modified heat races.
Another racing program is slated for Friday, June 12 at 7 p.m.
I-94 Speedway
FERGUS FALLS, MN — Rain washed out the scheduled racing program for Friday, June 5.
The next scheduled program is set for 7 p.m. on Friday, June 19.
Madison Speedway
MADISON, MN — There was no scheduled racing program this past weekend at the speedway.
Racing is scheduled to resume on Saturday, June 13 at 7 p.m.
