Caleb Wilson helps Chicago Bulls earn big NBA Draft grade

The Chicago Bulls made it official on Tuesday night when they selected former North Carolina star Caleb Wilson with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Wilson heads to a franchise that is in a rebuild and in need of a star.
He also has the chance to make an impact right away for the Bulls and kick off this rebuild on a good note.
For Chicago, it was a no-brainer to pick Wilson at No. 4 after AJ Dybantsa went first followed by Darryn Peterson and then Cameron Boozer. Now, less than 24 hours after the selection, they are earning a big grade for the selection.
USA TODAY Sports has released grades for every first-round pick in the 2026 NBA Draft and Wilson earned the Bulls an A+:
With his first pick running the front office for the Bulls, executive Bryson Graham had a simple task: Pick whichever player of the “big four” was still remaining on the board once on the clock. However, based on what he said the team is looking for, Caleb Wilson is actually a perfect fit. The Bulls now value size, physicality and athleticism. Each of those traits are intrinsic to Wilson, who led the nation in dunks before he suffered a season-ending injury during his one-and-done campaign. A potential All-Defense candidate in the NBA, Wilson is also a capable leader who still has room to showcase new skills outside of the post in the pros.
Despite being fourth, Wilson has the chance to be the best player in this draft and become a star. If that happens, the Bulls could be well on their way to returning to glory.
