Barcelona superstar expected to stay for at least one more season amid Saudi Arabia interest

Raphinha is one of the players worth keeping an eye on in the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026, as the Barcelona forward looks to make a statement by helping Brazil restore its former glory, alongside Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr.
But more than Brazil’s glory, Raphinha’s performances will be tracked in the wake of recent speculation linking him with a move away from Barcelona.
Raphinha has been a subject of interest for Saudi Arabia for quite some time. But these reports have intensified in the days leading up to the tournament, leading many to believe that he may actually leave Barça.
Raphinha expected to stay
According to SPORT, the plan from both Barcelona and Raphinha’s side remains for the two parties to continue together for at least one more season.

Al Hilal and Al Nassr are the two clubs leading the interest, with huge Saudi numbers being mentioned.
But it appears Raphinha has not told Barcelona that he wants to leave, and Hansi Flick continues to view him as an important player he has no desire to lose.
Saudi and Qatari interest mounting
The interest from the Middle East is significant and growing. The Saudi pursuit could even help fund Barcelona’s own move for a new striker, with the Blaugrana potentially receiving around €80 million should they sanction a sale.

It is not just Saudi Arabia in the running either. Raphinha also reportedly has a lucrative offer from Qatar, who have proposed a very high salary to the winger.
Talks parked until after the World Cup
For now, all major decisions have been put on hold. As previously reported, Raphinha will hold talks about his future only after the World Cup.
The winger’s importance to Flick’s side cannot be overstated. When Raphinha has been absent this season, Barcelona have noticeably struggled, both in their pressing and their overall attacking play.
That is precisely why, despite the eye-watering financial temptation on offer, both the club and the player appear aligned in their desire to continue together for at least another year.
