Barcelona forward dismisses PSG rumours: ‘I’m not interested’

FC Barcelona forward Ferran Torres has firmly shut down speculation linking him with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, insisting that his full attention is on Spain’s World Cup campaign and not on transfer rumours.

Earlier this week, rumours emerged stating that PSG had set their sights on Ferran as a potential replacement for Bradley Barcola, who could be on his way out this summer.

The Spanish international’s current contract with the Blaugrana expires in 2027, giving way to speculations over his future.

However, Ferran Torres has firmly closed the doors on an exit from Barcelona this summer, insisting that he does not care about the rumours.

Speaking ahead of Spain’s opening match against Cape Verde in Atlanta, the Barcelona forward offered a blunt response that left little room for interpretation.

“I don’t know anything about PSG and I’m not interested,” Ferran said, as quoted by SPORT.

World Cup remains his only priority

As one of Spain’s captains at the tournament, Ferran was selected to address the media before La Roja’s opening fixture.

With Lamine Yamal not expected to start due to ongoing fitness concerns, the Valencia-born attacker is likely to feature on the right wing in Spain’s line-up.

Despite questions about both his club future and a potential contract extension at Barcelona, Ferran repeatedly steered the conversation back to the World Cup.

His current deal runs until June 2027, and Barcelona’s sporting department is expected to address his long-term future in the coming months. However, the forward made it clear that those discussions are not on his mind.

“I’m only interested in tomorrow,” insisted the Spanish international, focusing solely on La Roja’s opening match in the tournament.

Key role for Ferran

Ferran arrives at the World Cup on the back of one of the strongest campaigns of his Barcelona career.

The 26-year-old scored 21 goals during the season and shared La Liga’s Zarra Trophy with Lamine as the competition’s leading Spanish goalscorers.

His performances established him as an important figure in Hansi Flick’s squad and helped strengthen his standing within the club.

With Robert Lewandowski’s departure leaving a significant gap in Barcelona’s attack, Ferran’s role is expected to become even more important next season, regardless of ongoing speculation about potential arrivals.
