The Arizona Cardinals have found their new radio voice for games. The team announced that J.P Shadrick will replace Dave Pasch, who stepped down after 25 years as the play-by-play voice, taking an exclusive role at ESPN.
He has called radio play-by-play for the NFL on Westwood One Sports since 2022, announcing NFL London games, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and key late-season matchups. He has also served as a national play-by-play voice on college football for Touchdown Radio Network since 2017, with studio host experience since 2016.
He spent the last 14 years as the senior reporter for the Jacksonville Jaguars and was the host for the head coaches’ weekly radio show for the last six.
He joins analyst A.Q. Shipley in the radio booth. Shipley became the radio analyst last year after longtime analyst Ron Wolfley stepped down.
Shadrick will not call the Cardinals’ preseason opener on Thursday in the Hall of Fame Game against the Carolina Panthers. The game will be nationally televised on NBC, and Paul Calvisi will handle radio play-by-play with Shipley.
Shadrick’s first game will be next week when the Cardinals play the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday.
After two decades of Pasch and Wolfley, it will certainly take Cardinals fans some time to adjust to Shadrick and Shipley.
