Are Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich the only hopes to derail PSG this season?
Bayern Munich’s reputation across Europe remains as strong as ever.
Former FC Barcelona and Spain defender Miguel Nadal recently named Bayern as one of the very few clubs capable of challenging Paris Saint-Germain this season, putting them in elite company alongside Barca.
“What Luis Enrique has done at PSG is admirable. The turnover he has managed and the signings made have produced a very powerful team, one that has covered important losses and given Paris Saint-Germain the character, the brilliance in play and the personality of a special side. Naturally, there are strong teams around today. I would also like it to be Madrid, but I see they will have a lot of work to do despite having a great squad. And I think, given their style, my sense is that Bayern will be one of the strongest rivals alongside Barcelona,” Nadal told Casinostugan.
It is high praise considering the level PSG reached last season. Luis Enrique has built a side that combines technical quality, tactical discipline, and relentless intensity, making them the benchmark in European football heading into the new campaign.
For Bayern Munich, however, the expectations have always been to compete with the very best. The club has reinforced its squad this summer with Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown, while Vincent Kompany now has another year to further implement his ideas. If Bayern can stay healthy and quickly establish chemistry, there is every reason to believe they belong among the favorites to challenge for the Champions League.
Whether they ultimately prove capable of dethroning PSG remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: Bayern Munich continues to command respect from some of the biggest names in football.
