Anderlecht have added to their backline with the signing of Elche defender Léo Pétrot. The 29-year-old central defender has signed a deal with Anderlecht that will run until 2028. Pétrot only spent one season in La Liga with Elche before leaving to join Anderlecht and will add some much needed experience to a back line that struggled at times last season.
Prior to playing for Elche, Pétrot spent almost all of his career in France. He started out in the Saint Etienne set up before leaving in 2019 without making a first team appearance for the side. Pétrot joined Andrezieux Boutheon, playing 24 games for the side before joining Lorient. After featuring for the first team during the 2021/2022 season, Pétrot returned to Saint Etienne, going on to play 99 games for the French side before joining Elche on a free last summer. Pétrot played 36 games for Elche last season, scoring one goal.
