John Harbaugh has a small warning for Cam Skattebo's minicamp return

Cam Skattebo looked back to normal for the New York Giants at their second mandatory minicamp, which ended Wednesday, June 10.
But not his own sense of normal, doing crazy backflips to celebrate his touchdowns and screaming “WOO! YEAH!” like pro wrestling legend Ric Flair.
The former Arizona State star running back returned to camp eight months after his 2025 season-ending ankle surgery.
Art Stapleton, a New York Giants beat writer and NFL columnist for The Record and NorthJersey.com, reported on June 8 that Skattebo participated in position and team drills, but the team’s first-year coach John Harbaugh warned, “Maybe no backflips.”
Cam Skattebo participated in drills today and looked healthy, which is everything eight months after surgery to repair his dislocated ankle.
John Harbaugh said he was told Skatt may even jump into a team drill or two. That could happen tomorrow.

Skattebo was one of the Giants’ rising star rookies alongside their starting quarterback Jaxson Dart last season. That was before Skattebo dislocated his ankle during the Giants’ Week 8 loss at the Philadelphia Eagles. Skattebo became the Giants’ RB1 in five of his eight games played, was the team’s leader in rushing yards (410) and TDs on the ground (five), before he was sidelined.
Harbaugh spoke about Skattebo’s recovery process and how he looked at camp June 8.
“I was happy,” Harbaugh said. “He was telling me today, and the trainer told me, too, that he was going to get some plays in group and plays in team, and I was like, ‘that’s where you want him to be.’ He’s worked super hard, super hard.
“I did mention maybe no back flips out here today. We agreed.”
Skattebo is expected to be available for the Giants’ Week 1 home matchup against their NFC East rival, the Dallas Cowboys, on Sunday Night Football.
