Real Madrid issue statement to confirm €150m offer made for Barcelona target Julian Alvarez

Real Madrid have issued a statement to confirm they have made a €150 million offer for Julian Alvarez which has been rejected by Atletico Madrid.
Florentino Perez said last week that he planned to make a €150m bid for a player but refused to confirm the club’s target which prompted intense speculation.
Madrid have now issued the following statement:
“Real Madrid C. F. announces that, after the meeting of the Board of Directors held today, he has made an offer of 150 million euros to the Club Atlético de Madrid for the federal rights of the player Julian Álvarez.
“After studying and evaluating it, the Club Atlético de Madrid has thanked the offer made, made within the framework of the good relations between both clubs, and has rejected it by referring to the termination clause of the player.”
The move comes at a time when Barcelona have made Alvarez a top transfer target. The Catalans have reportedly made a €100 million bid for the Argentine, although Los Colchoneros have denied receiving such a bid.
