Bayern Munich News: FC Barcelona eyeing Lennart Karl; Real Madrid chasing three PSG players?; and MORE!

Barca eyeing Karl (ESPN)

Bayern Munich phenom Lennart Karl picked up a muscle injury and will miss the World Cup, but that has not stopped FC Barcelona from admiring the youngster from afar:

Barcelona have identified Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Lennart Karl and Newcastle United midfielder Lewis Miley as potential signings for the future, according to Mundo Deportivo. The LaLiga champions are reported to have been building a shortlist of the brightest prospects from across Europe. Karl, 18, has been tracked following his breakout season in the Bundesliga, while 20-year-old Miley, who made 23 Premier League appearances last season, has been added to Barça’s list for his versatility in midfield and defense. Karl was ruled out of the FIFA World Cup after picking up an injury in training on Friday.

This story seems odd. Everyone knows that Karl is a Real Madrid fan!

We kid, we kid.

Seriously, though, Karl has that “it” that has propelled him to being worthy of drawing such attention. It did not start with FC Barcelona and will not end with the Catalans, either. Let’s just hope that Karl can make a quick recovery and be ready to show his talent once again next season.

Journo shoots down Rashford idea because of salary (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)

Rumors emerged once again on Bayern Munich reportedly having interest in Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford. However, Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk says that Rashford’s big salary is a deterrent to a deal getting done:

It’s very interesting that the Marcus Rashford to Bayern rumours are up and running again! When I spoke to Bayern previously, weeks before, there was always a NOT TRUE on Marcus Rashford. However, there was the idea of signing Anthony Gordon, but the ex-Newcastle star is now at Barcelona, and so Rashford could now be on the market. I think for Bayern, it wouldn’t be a problem to pay the stated price tag of €40m [£34.5m], which Barcelona don’t appear to be able to pay all at once. For Bayern, this would be no problem. But the one big problem is the high salary, as FC Bayern doesn’t want to be forking out a big wage for a backup signing. The name is interesting, but let’s see what happens with the other candidates. I personally don’t think he’s an option for Bayern right now, but it’s worth remembering that Luis Diaz wasn’t the first-choice signing last summer (the club had three or four players ahead of him on the list). So I won’t say no for sure, but it’s not hot at the minute.

Will Kvaratskhelia be the big pick up for Real? (ESPN)

With Bayern Munich re-iterating that Michael Olise is not for sale, Real Madrid could look to go all-in on PSG winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia:

Real Madrid are considering a move for Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, according to TEAMtalk. The Georgia international has emerged as a potential marquee target for the Spanish giants, with club president Florentino Pérez reported to be a keen admirer, and Pérez recently hinted he’d be willing to sanction a transfer bid in excess of €150 million for a mystery “Galactico” signing. Given Kvaratskhelia’s status as one of Europe’s top attacking talents, Madrid will almost certainly have to smash their existing transfer record to get the deal done.

Again, it seems like Real Madrid is chasing a total longshot, but crazier things have happened.

PSG’s midfield stars are untouchable (Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano)

Speaking of Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain is making its midfield tandem of Vitinha or João Neves off limits, too:

🚨 Paris Saint-Germain have been very clear on reports about Real Madrid and Vitinha or João Neves over the recent days…

…both of them are NOT for sale. Untouchable and key part of the project. 🔴🔵

Augsburg wants Gregoritsch (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)

FC Augsburg could be looking to bring back Brøndby attacker Michael Gregoritsch:

🚨🆕 FC Augsburg are working on a permanent deal for Michael Gregoritsch. Negotiations with Brøndby IF have started.

Inter making contingency plans in case Bisseck leaves (ESPN)

Inter Milan is realizing it could lose center-back Yann Bisseck and could be ready to make contingency plans:

Inter Milan are weighing up a surprise move for Manchester City defender Rúben Dias if defender Yann Bisseck leaves the Serie A club this summer, according to Corriere dello Sport. Inter view Portugal international Dias, who is under contract at the Etihad until 2029, as a potential marquee replacement and believe a deal could be structured as an initial loan with an obligation to sign him permanently. Christian Falk reports that Bayern Munich are monitoring Germany international Bisseck, who could be made available by Inter for around €40 million, opening the way for Dias to arrive.
