Bayern Munich are weighing up a surprise move for Liverpool teenager Rio Ngumoha, according to The Athletic.

The Bundesliga champions continue their search for attacking reinforcements ahead of the new season and have landed on the Liverpool jewel.

While Bayern have yet to make formal contact with Liverpool, Ngumoha is aware they want to bring him to the Allianz Arena.

However, Liverpool are determined to hold on to one of their brightest talents, who has been competing with Cody Gakpo for the starting berth on the left flank.

The Reds have no intention of entertaining offers for Ngumoha and view him as an important part of the club’s long-term plans.

The England youth international only signed his first professional contract last September, committing his future to Anfield until 2028.

Ngumoha’s rapid rise over the past 12 months has further strengthened Liverpool’s belief in his potential.

He made 29 appearances across all competitions during the 2025/26 campaign, registering two goals and one assist while earning valuable first-team experience.

He is currently training alongside England’s senior squad in Florida ahead of the upcoming World Cup, although he will not feature in the tournament.

Ngumoha’s emergence was a major factor behind the club’s decision not to recruit a direct replacement following Luis Diaz’s move to Bayern last summer.

Liverpool are focusing on strengthening their wide attacking options, with RB Leipzig prospect Yan Diomande among the players under consideration.

They are competing with Paris Saint-Germain to sign the Ivory Coast international, who can operate on both flanks.
