Clemson offers 2027 EDGE Raymond Hudson amid recruiting surge

Raymond Hudson, a 2027 Edge Rusher out of Varina High School in Richmond, Virginia, announced that he received an offer from Clemson. Hudson is listed by 247Sports at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds and is rated as a three-star prospect. The 247Sports Composite has him ranked as the No. 612 player nationally, the No. 53 Edge and the No. 14 player in Virginia.
This one is worth tracking, even if it does not currently look like Clemson is in the driver’s seat. Maryland holds the lone 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction for Hudson, and the Terrapins are listed as the warm school on his profile. Syracuse, Cincinnati, Clemson, and Penn State are also in the mix.
That does not mean the Tigers are out of it. Clemson has been stacking defensive recruiting wins and offers recently, and getting involved with Hudson gives the staff another chance to keep building depth along the edge. Still, this feels more like Clemson entering a recruitment it will need to flip than one it already controls.

Hudson’s offer is another sign that Clemson is staying active on the defensive front, even while chasing higher-profile targets. The Tigers may have work to do here, but with the way the staff has been recruiting lately, it is at least worth watching.
