Baseball: TCU hires Danny-David Linahan as next hitting coach

In the second of three offseason coaching moves, TCU baseball announced it has hired former Texas State coach Danny-David Linahan to become the program’s next hitting coach. Linahan, who replaces longtime assistant and departing coach Bill Mosiello, has spent the last two seasons at Texas State. Linahan joined Texas State after two seasons with the Minnesota Twins, where he served as an assistant hitting coach. During his tenure, the Twins won the 2023 AL Central Division title and earned the franchise’s first postseason victory since 2004.

Prior to Minnesota, Linahan spent the 2022 season with the Cleveland Guardians as a full-time minor league hitting coach. Linahan began his professional coaching career with the Los Angeles Dodgers organization. Before entering professional baseball, Linahan was the director of player development at Abilene Christian during the 2019 season and through the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign. A former collegiate player, Linahan played at Hardin-Simmons University. He also played at Southwestern Oklahoma State during the 2017 season and began his college career at Frank Phillips Junior College.
