Tampa Bay Buccaneers star Emeka Egbuka has already missed the team’s Week 7 win against the Carolina Panthers because of injuries. Now, the Buccaneers have received another uncertain update on their wide receiver as they prepare for their Week 8 clash against the Atlanta Falcons.

Recently, Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles was asked about the availability of Egbuka, Luke Goedeke, and Antoine Winfield Jr. for Week 8. However, the head coach revealed that all three players remain questionable.

“They’re all questionable,” Bowles said. “We’re going to see on Wednesday and Thursday what they do, and I’ll have a better answer for you.”

Egbuka missed his first game of the season in Week 7 after sustaining a concussion and a foot injury during Tampa Bay’s Week 6 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The wide receiver took a particularly hard hit in the fourth quarter when Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen’s shoulder collided with his helmet while Egbuka attempted to make a play on an incomplete pass.

Egbuka returned to limited practice on Friday ahead of the Panthers matchup, yet he was unable to receive medical clearance in time to play. The latest update leaves Tampa Bay waiting for further clarity on his recovery as the team prepares for its next divisional test.

Meanwhile, quarterback Baker Mayfield returned against Carolina after missing three games with a dislocated thumb. However, the quarterback had to lead the offense without Egbuka, who had emerged as one of the Buccaneers’ primary receiving options this season.

Egbuka’s potential absence would be a significant blow to Tampa Bay’s passing attack. Before missing the Week 7 matchup, the young receiver had recorded 28 receptions for 240 yards and two touchdowns.

However, Egbuka’s recovery from both the concussion and foot injury will ultimately determine whether he can return against Atlanta. Until the Buccaneers provide another update following his upcoming practices, his availability for Week 8 remains uncertain.
