Green Bay Packers sign Christian Watson to 4-year $110.5 million contract extension

Earlier this off-season, the Green Bay Packers bid adieu to a couple of their most targeted wide receivers. Romeo Doubs, who led the team with 85 targets, was not retained and allowed to walk in free agency. Dontayvion Wicks, who was third on the team with 46 targets, was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Christian Watson, who was second on the team with 55 targets, is entering the 2026 season on a one-year contract extension that he signed last year while he was recovering from a torn ACL.
And now, he will be around for a long time.

On Thursday morning, ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Watson and the Packers have agreed on a four-year $110.5 million contract extension. It includes a $31 million signing bonus:

In 10 games played after returning from his torn ACL, Watson had 35 receptions for 611 yards and six touchdowns (which tied for the team lead).
He is, obviously, one of Jordan Love’s favorite targets, as he was targeted the second-most times on the team last year despite missing seven games.
With Wicks and Doubs gone, Watson is sure to get many more targets, as will Matthew Golden who is entering his second season with Green Bay.
Watson’s contract is the second extension the Packers have completed this off-season, having earlier agreed to a three-year $50+ million deal with Jayden Reed.
Now that Watson and Reed are locked up, the next potential extension candidate is star tight end Tucker Kraft, who is entering the final season of his rookie contract in 2026. One would assume that there is no way Green Bay lets him even sniff free agency at this point in time.
