George Pickens a bright spot for Dallas in TNF debacle

Dallas Cowboys WR George Pickens had nine receptions, 130 yards, and a touchdown during the the team’s Week 5 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Pickens was targeted a game-high 13 times.

Why It Matters: Invisible in Weeks 1 and 2, Pickens showed signs of life the past two games before finally having a breakout performance on Thursday night that included both his first 100-plus-yard effort and first touchdown since Week 16 last year (when he posted an eerily similar 7-130-1 line), a span of six games. If CeeDee Lamb is forced to miss time, Pickens would step in as Dallas’ primary receiver, which would push the mercurial wideout into WR1 territory. When Lamb is healthy, however, Pickens is more suited to a WR2 role.
