The Milwaukee Brewers will face the San Diego Padres in the National League Division Series after the Padres dispatched the Chicago Cubs in the wild-card series, 2-0.
It’ll be the first time in the playoffs that the Brewers face the Padres, the hottest team in baseball throughout most of the second half.
The Padres bring a bullpen loaded with talent, a lineup with many familiar names and the swagger of a series sweep against Chicago. The Padres have also beaten the Brewers four out of six times in the regular season, although two of those games were decided in the final inning.
First-year manager Craig Stammen will get an extra day off for his staff after the series sweep, with the Brewers and Padres meeting in Game 1 of the NLDS on Saturday, Oct. 3. Here’s what to know:

Brewers vs Padres this season
The Padres swept the Brewers at San Diego in August and won four of the six games between the clubs. The Brewers won two out of three games the teams played in Milwaukee in May.
