The Los Angeles Dodgers had the night off on Monday. Multiple players took advantage by catching a a game at SoFi Stadium. Tarik Skubal and Mookie Betts were both in attendance on Monday as the Los Angeles Rams beat the New York Giants, 28-6. The Dodgers’ stars did not appear to be there together and had very different experiences.
While Skubal was field level, Betts was up in the suites hanging out with Myles Garrett and Aaron Donald’s wife.
While Betts was shown in a suite during the broadcast, Skubal was field level. The pitcher chatted with Rams’ tight end Colby Parkinson ahead of the game and posted pictures and video on Instagram. Blake Snell obviously wasn’t invited as he posted, “You think you know a guy… then he goes to the rams game solo… @tarikskubal,”on Skubal’s post.

The timing of Skubal attending the Rams game is interesting because of his current status with the team. On Sunday the Dodgers placed Skubal on the bereavement list saying the pitcher would be away from the team for a couple days. According to manager Dave Roberts he had, “Some personal stuff going on, but he’s fine.” Snell was probably just doing some gentle ribbing.
So it also makes sense that Skubal and Betts probably had no clue the other was there.

The Dodgers clinched the NL West last week. They have six games remaining on the schedule and Skubal is currently penciled in to start the final game of the regular season against the San Francisco Giants. It seems unlikely he makes that start for a number of reasons.
