Germany U-21 squad will have some familiar talent

FC Augsburg could have a strong presence in the Germany U-21 squad when the latest roster is officially announced on Friday.
According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Noahkai Banks, Mert Kömür, and Arijon Ibrahimović are all set to receive call-ups for Germany’s upcoming UEFA European U-21 Championship qualifiers.
For Ibrahimović, the nomination provides another opportunity to continue his development on the international stage. The Bayern Munich loanee has already featured prominently for Germany’s youth teams and will be looking to make an impact as the U-21 side continues its qualifying campaign.
Kömür has also established himself as an intriguing young talent at Augsburg, while Banks represents another promising option coming through the German youth setup. Having three FC Augsburg players involved would give the club a notable presence in the next Germany U-21 squad.
There could have been a fourth Augsburg player involved, but Anton Kade is set to miss out because of a muscle injury in his adductors. His absence does not necessarily mean the door is completely closed, however. Sky Germany reports that Kade could still visit Jürgen Klopp’s Germany setup, with his nomination reportedly likely to have happened had he been healthy.
The official Germany U-21 squad will be announced Friday, but Augsburg already appears set to have plenty of reason to pay attention.
