Terence Crawford hints at return, calls out Boots Ennis

Terence Crawford has hinted at a potential return to boxing with a ‘Boots’ Ennis callout.
‘Bud’ is one of the very few combat sports athletes who bowed out while on top. Many consider his career-defining win against Canelo Alvarez enough to label him the greatest boxer of his generation. We are approaching the one-year mark since Crawford’s retirement, but it seems he is getting the itch to return.
The demand for a Terence Crawford vs. Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis clash spiraled out of control after the two went at each other live on DAZN earlier this month. During the live segment, Ennis continued his long-standing claim that he would make easy work of Crawford if they ever met in the ring. A back-and-forth commenced between the two, with neither side backing down. The visuals sparked debate online, but it began losing steam when it looked like the fight would never happen.
Just days later, a bout between the two now looks closer than ever.
In a post on social media earlier today, Terence Crawford hinted at a potential call-out of Boots Ennis. Folding to the fans’ demands, Crawford issued a challenge to Ennis: If I come out of retirement, would you fight me next?
“I wanna see something!” Crawford said on X. “Y’all wanna see me come back and fight so bad, don’t y’all? Jaron Ennis, would you fight me next if I come outta retirement?”

A fight between the two undefeated boxers would feel reminiscent of boxing during its glory days. Real stakes on the line. And Ennis was interested in the idea, simply replying:
“Terence Crawford, 1000%!”

Rumors claim Crawford could be tempted to return. A huge payday and glory await, though Ennis would allegedly need to become the undisputed champion before any serious fight talks get underway.
